Working Student Engineering: ML, Backend & Frontend
About Traize
Traize is an AI startup rethinking company knowledge: we capture and connect implicit and explicit knowledge within organisations, from documents to the lived expertise of employees, intuitively and securely.
Funded by the Innovation Programme for Business Models and Pioneering Solutions (IGP) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, we are growing our team to take the next step in our development.
Your Responsibilities
As a working student in engineering, you work directly with our CTO and the engineering team and build the technical substance behind Traize with us. You take on responsibility early, help shape architecture decisions, and drive your own components forward, in areas such as:
- ML engineering & retrieval: knowledge graphs, vectors, and semantic search.
- Backend engineering with a focus on infrastructure, task scheduling, and deployment.
- Frontend engineering and UX design.
Of course you won't cover every area equally. We'll figure out together which one suits you best and excites you most.
Your Profile
- You read other people's code without hesitation, write clean tests, and know why that matters.
- You use AI while developing, but you also genuinely understand the code you ship to production.
- You've built something of varying complexity before: a side project, an OSS contribution, or a university project with real ambition.
- You work independently and don't wait for the next task to be handed to you.
- You communicate fluently in German or English.
- You are an enrolled student in an advanced semester of computer science, mathematics, physics, or a comparable degree programme.
What to Expect
- You choose your area of work in line with your interests and strengths, turning your skills into a real product.
- From day one you have real ownership of components that you drive forward independently.
- Young team & short decision paths: you work directly with the five-person founding team and actively shape the technical development and architecture.
- A modern tech-stack setup and insights into building an AI startup.
- Flexibility: 100% remote at 15 hours per week.
How to Apply
Sounds like you? Then we look forward to your application. Send us a few lines about yourself and which engineering tasks and activities excite you most, along with a current transcript and your LinkedIn profile or CV.
